摘要: Purpose To apply thin-section T2-weighted magnetic resoance imaging (MRI) to evaluate the number, size, distribution, and morphology of benign malignant mesorectal lymph nodes before after chemoradiation treatment compared with histopathologic findings. Methods Materials Twenty-five patients poor-risk adenocarcinoma rectum treated neoadjuvant were evaluated prospectively. Thin-section MR images obtained independently reviewed in consensus by 2 expert radiologists determine tumor stage, nodal stage. Total excision surgery allowed stage be histopathology using κ statistics. Nodal downstaging was Chi-square test. Results Before chemoradiation, 152 visible (mean, 6.2 mm; 100 benign, 52 malignant) 4 contact fascia. The staging 7/25 N0, 10/25 N1, N2. After only 29 4.1 24 5 visible, none observed: 20/25 N0 5/25 N1 ( p Conclusions Neoadjuvant resulted a decrease size number malignant- benign-appearing on MRI. regression from fascia observed treatment. MRI is useful tool for assessing response
