摘要: To assess diagnostic accuracy, laparoscopy and surgical exploration were prospectively performed in 104 children with 126 nonpalpable testes. Laparoscopic localization of the testis was correct 90% (114 testes) nondiagnostic 8% largely due to preperitoneal insufflation. No complications occurred. Using criteria blind-ending vas deferens spermatic vessels as an intra-abdominal vanishing testis, accuracy diagnosis 100% but inability identify either or associated testes 2 3 cases. Identification canalicular 36 75 cases (48%). Bilateral significantly less likely have absent (5%) than a unilateral (59%), suggesting possibility different pathophysiological mechanisms those entities. Diagnosis management directly impacted by 42 117 (36%) identifying location need for retroperitoneal when not found. Accurate knowledge 97% facilitated development appropriate strategy (that is laparoscopic/laparoscopic assisted versus open procedure).
