摘要: Abstract: If the world is flat, what, then, are implications for and obligations of educational leaders? Leaders in Bangalore, India offer habits mind, heart, action that can serve as bases a model leadership twenty-first century. How I, leader, prepare generation children will not see? Clearly, no multiple guess answers questions exist. While on its face there may relationship between ideagoras society, submit they inextricably linked. clarity their convergence, however, require some background context. Less two years ago began preparing teach doctoral course leaders transforming organizations triptych themes emerged. First, implicit notion was idea leadership--the leader would embrace. Second, organization itself--the attributes one embodied perspectives. Finally, matter society--its meaning organizations. examined any research seemed address questions. sought counsel work individuals did, seeking possible analogues community. President Chief Executive Officer Samuel R. Starr Sterling Commerce, Inc. suggested read Tom Friedman's, flat (2005). Friedman (2005) posited only past several years, ten forces have served flatten and, "It this triple convergence--of new players, playing field, developing processes horizontal development--that ... most important force shaping economics politics early century" (pp. 181-182). As poring through Friedman's book considering his thesis, emerged spoke needs resulted were: 1. we embrace assumption what rules, roles, relationships which aware successful? a. young people b. 2. nations world? should knowledge inform policy our nation? training In an effort begin exploring issues, considered role emerging powerhouses--China India--were stage. initially found compelling two, it world's largest democratic nation state. third question was, look at India, help us understand relationships?
