摘要: Abstract Puberty is marked by dramatic changes in neuroendocrine function. These have profound effects on the structure and function of maturing nervous system, resulting altered physiological behavioral potentials adult organism. Indeed, neurobehavioral development during puberty rival those occurring neonatal development. This review discusses pubertal maturation hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axes; specifically, how rise gonadal hormones influences various steroid‐dependent motivated behaviors adulthood, as well differences stress reactivity prepubertal animals. We conclude that represents another significant perhaps critical period Furthermore, we suggest perturbations developing system this may result deleterious outcomes future an individual reaching adulthood.
