摘要: Recent advances in characterization tools, computational capabilities, and theories have created opportunities for advancement understanding of solid–fluid interfaces at the nanoscale corroding metallic systems. The Faraday Discussion on Corrosion Chemistry 2015 highlighted some current needs, gaps corrosion science. Themes were organized into several hierarchical categories that provide an organizational framework corrosion. Opportunities to develop fundamental physical chemical data which will enable further progress thermodynamic kinetic modelling discussed. These new better unit processes govern nanoscale. Additional topics discussed included scales, films oxides, fluid–surface molecular–surface interactions, selected science engineering as well control. complex alloy dissolution, local corrosion, specific are made up collections temporally spatially varying such oxidation, ion transport, competitive adsorption. control mitigation covered insights coatings inhibitors. Further operando or situ experimental strategies combined with enhance field, especially if coupling across length time scales can be achieved incorporating various phenomena encountered Readers encouraged not only use this ad hoc scheme guide their immersion chemistry, but also find value information presented own ways.
