摘要: ABSTRACT This study demonstrated utilization of raw chat from the Kenoyer North Pile in roadway base applications by stabilizing it with class C fly ash (CFA) or cement kiln dust (CKD). Raw was stabilized 5%, 10% and 15% CFA CKD tested for unconfined compressive strength (UCS). The results showed a significant gain (UCS) due to stabilization. UCS chat, range 500 psi 700 psi. corresponding CKD-stabilized much lower, 100 300 Since does not have any particles greater than 3/8 inch, satisfy gradation requirements an aggregate base, as specified Oklahoma Department Transportation (ODOT). Thus, second batch tests performed which limestone (40%) blended (60%) blend either CKD. chat-limestone higher without limestone. Scanning electron microscopy were conducted examine reaction products Effect curing time on also examined. Overall, observed that can be used base. exploratory nature; more systematic is currently underway part Plan Tar Creek. Results will presented future report.
