摘要: AbstractMountain waves and rotors in the lee of Medicine Bow Mountains southeastern Wyoming are investigated a two-part paper. Part I by French et al. delivers detailed observational account two rotor events: one displays characteristics hydraulic jump other classic lee-wave rotor. In II, presented here, results high-resolution numerical simulations conveyed physical processes involved formation dynamical evolution these events examined.The simulation reveal that origin observed lies boundary layer separation, induced wave perturbations whose amplitudes reach maxima at or near mountain top.
