摘要: Twelve clinical strains of Staphylococcus haemolyticus (eight methicillin resistant and three susceptible), isolated from blood cultures between 1982 1997, were investigated for teicoplanin vancomycin susceptibility profiles. On the basis conventional MIC tests breakpoints, four isolates susceptible (MICs, 1 to 8 μg/ml) eight 32 64 while all 2 μg/ml). All which MICs within range expressed heterogeneous resistance homogeneous susceptibility. Of resistance, six two seven showed profiles (with subpopulations growing on μg drug per ml at frequencies ≥10−6 10−7 one) one demonstrated bloodstream other staphylococcal species (S. aureus, S. epidermidis, simulans), ≥4 μg/ml ≤2 μg/ml, none exhibited found only strain). The results this study indicate that a response glycopeptides is common feature suggest as determined by may not be predictive outcome glycopeptide therapy.
