摘要: Urban and transportation planners have put a special focus on students' health fitness in the past decade, however they struggle to find effective policies promote walking biking for school trips. Commuting is an opportunity embed regular physical activity daily routines prevent many issues that are stimulated by inactivity during childhood. A three level nested logit model introduced explain motives behind trip modal selection. Four choice situations, namely walking, driving, busing, taking public transit considered. This study, particularly, underscored significance of misspecification terms policy outcomes, since multinomial models typically adopted literature strong and, cases, unrealistic assumptions. Elasticity analysis MNL showed indirect elasticity vehicle ownership −0.13 non-automobile modes, while NL provides different elasticities −0.12, −0.20 −0.08, respectively public, bus, walk modes. results over estimating reduction share students who when increases. Moreover, wide range policy-sensitive variables along with their effect magnitude was discussed compared previous studies. The one percent increase probability expected every 0.04 auto travel time, 0.07 normalized-to-income cost 0.08 decrease ownership, 0.03 distance transit, or 2.37 commute distance. Safety also found be very influential active commuting, such addressing safety concern parents propensity commuting around 60 percent. KW: SR2S Language: en
