Electric double-layer capacitors with corn starch-based biopolymer electrolytes incorporating silica as filler

摘要: Solid-state electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) based on corn starch biodegradable polymer electrolytes are fabricated. Silica is added into the to improve ionic conductivity and capacitance of EDLCs. The as a function temperature obeys Arrhenius equation indicating hopping mechanism in electrolytes. Linear sweep voltammetry shows that prepared starch-based biopolymer electrolyte stable range from −2.5 2.5 V. Electrical performances these studied by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge–discharge, AC impedance spectroscopy. discharge characteristics have been found be almost linear, which confirms capacitive behavior EDLC cell. fabricated cells perform good cyclability up 500 cycles with more than 90 % coulombic efficiency.
