摘要: A meaningful environmental impact analysis should go beyond the accounting of pressures from resource use and actually assess how demand affects ecosystems. The various currently available footprints nations report e.g. water or pollutant emissions, driven by consumption. However, there have been limited attempts to consequences these pressures. Ultimately, consequences, not pressures, guide policymaking. newly released LC-Impact method demonstrates progress on path providing this missing link. Here we present "ecosystem footprints" in terms for biodiversity differences footprint results MRIO-based pressure footprints. new perspective reveals major changes relative contribution global Wealthy countries high lower-income but their often origin higher-income countries. This shift provides a different insight where focus policy responses preserve biodiversity.
