Local people's perceptions of forest biodiversity in the walnut fruit forests of Kyrgyzstan

摘要: The biodiversity of the walnut fruit forests in Kyrgyzstan is under huge pressure due to various socio-economic challenges and anthropogenic factors. In this context, participation local people plays a significant role conservation biodiversity. This study assessed people's understanding forest evaluated their knowledge wildlife at three different locations. research was conducted between May September 2008 with randomly selected households (n = 142). results indicated that were aware concept perceived ways depending on benefits gained from bias which strongly related profession.
