摘要: Introduction: The superficial inferior epigastric artery (SIEA) is a useful pedicle in supply to the lower abdominal integument, with its use sparing damage rectus abdominis muscle or sheath. However, it limited usefulness due anatomical variability. While previous studies have been number and study design, of preoperative imaging has enabled analysis this vasculature large numbers greater detail. Methods: A clinical 500 hemi-abdominal walls 250 consecutive patients undergoing computed tomographic angiography (CTA) prior autologous breast reconstruction was undertaken. presence, size, location, branching pattern SIEA were assessed each case. Results: identified 468 cases, an incidence 94%. Its mean diameter 0.6 mm, 24% cases >1.5 mm. location highly variable, position 2-cm lateral linea semilunaris (range 0–8 cm lateral), relationship vein (SIEV) also distance between them ranging from 0.3 8.5 apart. branches directly crossed midline 5% cases. Larger diameters correlated decrease ipsilateral DIEA perforators. Conclusion: present more frequently than previously demonstrated, but typically too small for free tissue transfer. variable degree suggests that territory may be planning flaps.
