摘要: Understanding a species’ foraging habits and preferences is fundamental to understanding its overall ecology essential for management conservation. In general, large herbivores are classified as either grazers, browsers , or mixed feeders diet preference related body mass digestive trait syndrome. Here, we analyze feeding strategies of in South Southeast Asia (SSEA) their syndromes. Overall, our results similar patterns observed on other continents. The majority herbivore species SSEA feeders. Browsers frugivores dominate the smallest classes, while bulk predominantly largest classes. There an absence hindgut fermenters lower ruminants megaherbivore class (>1000 kg). Cervids do not get Bovids, both Bovids greatest number found smaller Although occur across wide range different habitat types, there discernible associations with groups species. While this chapter sheds light important facet region, remains acute lack data SSEA.
