摘要: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder resulting from the progressive loss of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in substantia nigra (SN). In our previous study, attempts were made to directly visualize SN and quantify differences shapes boundaries between PD subjects comparison normal control using two-dimensional T2*-weighted 7.0-T MRI images (Cho et al., Mov Disord, accepted for publication). However, analysis does not represent entire SN. Therefore, overcome limitation 2D analysis, we acquire 3D image For this scanned nine patients, along with age-matched subjects, research prototype scanner an attempt shape volume subjects. The change ventrolateral cases was reconfirmed study as well Another interesting finding that MR imaging demonstrated potential quantification changes measured correlation analyses showed there age-dependent substantially stronger unified rating scale motor score-dependent patients. These results suggest could provide quantitative estimation patients vivo controls vivo. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
