摘要: Polyunsaturated fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are natural constituents of the human diet. DHA-algal oil is produced through use marine protist, Ulkenia sp. The reproductive toxicity was assessed in a one-generation study. Rats were provided diets containing at concentrations 1.5, 3.0, or 7.5%, and control group received diet 7.5% corn oil. Males females treated for 10 weeks prior to mating during mating. Females continued receive test gestation lactation. In parental animals, clinical observations, mortality, fertility, performance unaffected by treatment. Differences food consumption, body weight, liver weight groups not considered be due an adverse effect Spleen increases animals associated with extramedullary hematopoiesis. Yellow discoloration abdominal adipose tissue observed rats from high-dose group, histological examination revealed steatitis all groups. Exposure did influence physical development F1 animals. These results demonstrate that dietary up does affect capacity pup development. © 2007 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
