摘要: After birth dramatic decreases in cardiac malonyl CoA levels result the rapid maturation of fatty acid oxidation. We have previously demonstrated that decrease is due to increased activity decarboxylase (MCD), and decreased acetyl carboxylase (ACC), enzymes which degrade synthesize CoA, respectively. Decreased ACC corresponds an increase 5'-AMP activated protein kinase (AMPK), phosphorylates inhibits ACC. These alterations are delayed by myocardial hypertrophy. As rates oxidation can influence ability heart withstand ischemic insult, we examined expression MCD, ACC, AMPK newborn human heart. Ventricular biopsies were obtained from infants undergoing surgery. Immunoblot analysis showed a positive correlation between MCD age. In contrast, negative both age was observed. All ventricular samples displayed some degree hypertrophy, however, no differences enzyme found moderate severe This indicates important regulators
