However, studies euthymic patients may be confounded by the experience mood episodes and medication. We therefore assessed an group for vulnerability markers phenotype. Methods:  Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ) a screening tool targets mood-elevation symptoms. selected 32 high-scoring students (≥ 7 symptoms) 30 low-scoring controls (≤ 3 screened them Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview–Plus other psychiatric disorders. investigated assessing facial expression recognition, memory, emotion-potentiated startle, dot-probe task. Results:  Of high-MDQ participants, 12 were remission from defined DSM-IV-TR interview (bipolar II disorder/bipolar not otherwise specified) major depressive disorder. High-MDQ participants had higher levels neuroticism, low mood, lifetime anxiety comorbidity alcohol dependence compared low-MDQ participants. showed facilitated recognition surprised neutral expressions enhanced versus negative information memory startle. There no effects on categorisation/recall or attentional bias task. Conclusions:  These results suggest show despite increased anxiety. Such represent psychological marker phenotype.
