摘要: In order to observe extended astronomical objects at high spatial and spectral resolution, we have constructed a spectroscopic photoelectric imaging Fabry-Perot interferometer (SPIFI). Among the properties chosen for instrument are an air-spaced, piezoelectrically scanned design allowing accurately settable free range employing single etalon of finesse. Careful mountings optical train preserves light throughput. We either obtain spectra elements with photomultiplier or use SEC vidicon detector record series images through while scanning wavelength in discrete steps. The latter procedure yields sufficient information reconstruct features over entire object. For conditions assumed, observations requires only small fraction rotational period Jupiter Saturn, example. also electronic control system that permits rapid flexible variation operational mode its ancilliary devices so as minimize loss observational time. Finally, data presented demonstrate degree which achieved our goals.
