摘要: Chagas disease is a zoonotic infection caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi, which affects an estimated 8–11 million people globally. almost always associated with poverty in rural areas and disproportionately impacts immigrants from Latin America living United States. Approximately 20–30% of who are infected will develop chronic form that can be fatal if left untreated. vastly underestimated States, often goes undiagnosed not well understood most U.S. healthcare providers. One important ways at reducing barriers to improving diagnostics giving providers up-to-date information access leading experts. An online webinar was conducted for providers, veterinarians public health professionals using expert panelists. Pre post tests were administered participants (n = 57) determine efficacy raising awareness key focus knowledge. A Wilcoxon rank-sum used non-parametric variables equivalent questions assessed knowledge McNemar’s Chi-Square test used. There statistically significant learning increases multiple categories including transmission (p = <.001), clinical presentation (p = 0.016), treatment (p = <.001). Providing easily accessible opportunities validated testing evaluations should further developed as serving under represented populations such immigrants. clear lack surrounding States just providing education on topic, lives saved.
