摘要: Aim: To study the prevalence of overweight and obesity, weight-related concerns behaviours among overweight, obese non-overweight children adolescents. Methods: We carried out a cross-sectional survey all Chinese students in primary schools Central Western District Hong Kong March 2002. Thirty-one 32 participated, 5402 boys 5371 girls aged 8 to 15 y who completed standardized questionnaire were included. used International Obesity Task Force definition (IOTF reference) define obesity. Results: The (95% CI) was 16.4% (15.7–17.1%) (19.9% boys, 12.9% girls), that obesity 7.7% (7.2–8.2%) (10.3% 5.1% girls). combined similar based on local reference. Overweight had more about their weight than children. They likely feel fat, wish be lighter, diet exercise lose weight. Although heavier, they did not make effort children. Conclusions: differences suggested good validity IOTF reference self-reported data. between two groups different psychological states needed management programmes other intervention strategies.
