摘要: Abstract Microwave (MW) was applied to enhance the removal of heavy oil (diesel and marine fuels) from contaminated sandy soil using granular activated carbon (GAC) as dielectric medium. Adding GAC surface layer sand containing diesel fuel or subjecting 700 W MW irradiation for 30 s led better efficiencies than without addition by 9.5% (92.5% vs. 83%) fuel, 11.5% (89.5% 78%) fuel. Additionally, is an excellent absorbing material converting energy into thermal energy. When added medium convert energy, temperature rose 52°C 64°C, because heat transferred through GAC–soil interface. Meanwhile, volatile gas contained in passes soil-GAC interface reach high-temperature where thermally cracked.
