摘要: [1] Changes in groundwater levels cause water-bearing basins to deform. Here we provide a detailed history of horizontal surface displacements the San Gabriel Valley, California, which show are highly correlated with water level changes measured at nearby well: correlation coefficient 0.96 ± 0.01. We use response from one year period during change well was over 16 m, monitor deformations 14 year 1998 2011. The lead deformation by 21 days, but significance offset is only weakly supported (p-value = 0.129). projection method can be used as real-time monitoring or detection system for caused variety mechanisms such fluid injection and removal (groundwater development, oil production, carbon sequestration), seismic volcanic activity.
