摘要: Rapid urbanization and industrialization have aggravated heavy metal contamination in river sediments of the riverine ecosystem developing countries like Bangladesh owing to their toxicity persistence. Sediments are dynamic components useful indicators understand level associated ecological risks aquatic environment. The study was conducted investigate for assessing an urban using principal component analysis (PCA), Pearson’s correlation matrix, geo-accumulation index (Igeo), factor (CF), degree (CD), pollution load (PLI), enrichment factors (EF), potential risk (RI). ranges Zn, Cr, Cu, Pb, Cd were 42.22–99.55, 11.12–57.83, 7.98–53.31, 6.76–22.41, 0.38–0.87 mg/kg, respectively. In present study, concentration followed descending order Zn > Cr Cu Pb Cd, while concentrations higher lower than reference value (TRV). Geoaccumulation (Igeo) demonstrated that most sediment samples unpolluted moderately polluted. PLI ranged from 0.334 1.209 stated polluted by studied metals. multivariate statistical revealed influenced multiple sources. extent Shitalakhya River implies condition is much frightening both biota inhabitants vicinity river.
