摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the usefulness of Wada test in mesial temporal lobe epilepsy. The test, or intracarotid amobarbital procedure, is an essential part preoperative evaluation for anterior lobectomy at most epilepsy surgery institutions. results from testing and functional cortical mapping with electrical stimulation, another inactivation approach to identify brain function, are not always complete agreement. Decreased memory performance following contralateral injection a robust phenomenon that has been reported many different approaches testing. also associated variety quantitative measures hippocampal structure. Patients severe cell loss more likely fail seizure onset than patients less pathology. It found due differences conceptualizations, application uniform across suggested provides valuable information confirm laterality, thereby decrease need additional monitoring.
