摘要: PURPOSE To ascertain the cause of undercorrection medial palpebral fissure in blepharoptosis surgery. METHODS Twelve upper eyelids 6 Asian cadavers, 4 male and 2 female (average age at death, 77.5 years), were studied. After exposing levator muscle by removing bone superior orbital rim, lateral horns aponeurosis observed. RESULTS The was located anterolateral direction. Bifurcation angles horn steeper than those horn, but wider (Student's t test; P < 0.0001). inferior edge expansion extensively covered only slightly horn. Accordingly, most constituted thin structure middle aponeurosis. CONCLUSIONS Because is structurally weaker less dynamic side pulled more strongly medial, often resulting prevent this, part should be fixed widely lateral.
