摘要: A quantitative investigation of the ability to carry out a variety cognitive tasks was performed in 3 patients who had sustained traumatic injuries which involved prefrontal structures. All severe difficulties 2 tests required them number fairly simple but open-ended over 15-30 min period. They typically spent too long on individual tasks. scored well perception, language and intelligence other frontal lobe function. Explanations for their difficulty multiple subgoal terms memory or motivational problems could be excluded. It is argued that problem arose from an inability reactivate after delay previously-generated intentions when they are not directly signalled by stimulus situation.
