摘要: Abstract Surface modification of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) such as carboxylation, amidation, hydroxylation and pegylation is used to reduce the nanotube toxicity render them more suitable for biomedical applications than their pristine counterparts. Toxicity can be manifested in platelet activation it has been shown SWCNTs. However, effect various surface modifications on activating potential SWCNTs not tested yet. In vitro (CD62P) well platelet–granulocyte complex formation (CD15/CD41 double positivity) human whole blood were measured by flow cytometry presence 0.1 mg/ml or modified The was impedance aggregometry, too. All but hydroxylated ones activate platelets promote vitro. Carboxylated, pegylated induce aggregation well. Although preferred from point view, among samples us induced far most prominent a detectable blood.
