摘要: To determine the clinical efficacy of functional electrical therapy in rehabilitation grasping function for quadriplegics. Randomized intervention-versus-control trial. Rehabilitation hospital spinal cord injury Toronto, Canada. A total 21 people with new injuries ranging from C3 to C7 were randomly assigned two groups: Control (N=9) and Intervention (N=12). The intervention was therapy, which consisted repetitive exercises using a neuroprosthesis that applied surface stimulation arm generate and/or assist movements. It by registered Occupational Therapists setting. Main outcome measures were: Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Spinal Cord (SCIM), Engineering Laboratory Hand Function Test. Consumer perceptions assessed via qualitative interviews. Differences between groups could be observed although they are not significant due an insufficient number participants. positive, including improved Activities Daily Living self-satisfaction. has potential effective treatment modality restore quadriplegia. can implemented occupational therapists Further research is required establish suitable indications participant selection. In addition, larger participants needed demonstrate statistical significance Electrical Therapy.
