Fabrication of carbon nanotube/cobalt oxide nanocomposites via electrophoretic deposition for supercapacitor electrodes

摘要: The cobalt oxide and carbon nanotubes (Co3O4/CNTs) nanocomposites are successfully synthesized using hydrothermal method. as-synthesized nanocomposite materials utilized in the electrophoretic deposition (EPD) to fabricate electrodes, whose electrochemical properties investigated a three-electrode configuration cell with 1 M KOH electrolyte. By adjusting precursor concentration, reaction time process, annealing temperature, optimum conditions obtained. From experimental results, when nitrate concentration is taken as 2 mmol, 8 h, temperature maintained at 180 °C Co3O4/CNTs shows highest specific capacitance of 705 F g−1 charging current 3 A g−1. Besides, binder-free electrode preparation through EPD has effectively reduced inner resistance makes cycle stability excellent.
