摘要: The determination of the wall thickness (intima-media (IMT)), delineation ath- erosclerotic carotid plaque, measurement diam- eter in common artery (CCA), as well grading its stenosis are important for evaluation atherosclerosis disease. All these measurements also considered to be significant markers clinical evalu- ation risk stroke. A number CCA segmentation techniques have been proposed last few years either intima-media complex (IMC), lumen CCA, or atherosclerotic plaque from ultrasound images videos CCA. present review study proposes and discusses methods systems introduced so far literature perform- ing automated semi-automated ultra- sound These based on edge detection, active contours, level sets, dynamic pro- gramming, local statistics, Hough transform, statistical modeling, neural networks, an integration above methods. Furthermore, performance is evaluated discussed various met- rics. We finally propose best performing method that can used IMC ather- osclerotic videos. end with a discussion different image video techniques, future perspectives, further extension tech- niques tracking
