摘要: Background Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for peritoneal metastases (PM) is considered to be feasible, safe and improve survival. Aim To investigate whether an immune response activated following HIPEC PM. Methods Six patients were enrolled in this study. Peripheral blood samples obtained from each patient prior (day 0) post-procedure 30), used evaluate the number of CD3+ total, CD3+/CD4+ T-Helper, CD3+/CD8+ cytotoxic T, CD3+/CD56+ natural killer CD19+ B lymphocyte numbers, CD4+: CD8+ T ratios. Results The total numbers CD3+, lymphocytes, ratios increased all but one 30 d cytoreductive surgery-HIPEC procedure, these increases significant (P ≤ 0.05) Helper numbers. Conclusion This report provides first evidence that exhibits immunomodulating activity PM patients, resulting generalized activation adaptive response. Moreover, majority populations continued elevated several weeks consistent with a potential authentic effect rather than normal inflammatory response, fully characterised future studies.
