摘要: Abstract This chapter surveys the use of synchrotron radiation in archaeology, art history, conservation science, and palaentology. It follows on from preceeding introduction given Chapter 1 (Professor Dudley Creagh). After giving a brief survey current author describes both invasive non-invasive techniques for examination artefacts their environment. Examples are field science through study alteration iron waterlogged wood using micro-X-ray spatial fluorescence mapping, that paleontology with description micro-tomographic studies bones primate Late Eocene period described. An is to complementary infrared Fourier Transform microspectroscopy, absorption near edge structure, diffraction.
