摘要: We reviewed and compared the occurrence biogeographic origins of three arthropod groups, darkling beetles (Coleoptera, Tenebrionidae), spiders (Araneae) butterflies (Papilionoidea) on Socotra archipelago (Yemen). More than half (80.3%) (51.5%) are endemic to archipelago, in contrast with only 5 species (18.5%) butterflies. The number non-endemic taxa is higher among those distributed widely Afro-Oriental region, less from Afro-Arabian or African origin. These colonised Archipelago by natural means, but we document also introduction through human activity. exact distribution evolutionary patterns still need thorough research (e.g. molecular, phylogenetic, phylogeographic analyses).
