摘要: The ubiquity of circadian rhythms (driven by underlying clocks) in various behavioural and physiological processes across a variety life forms supports the hypothesis that such are probably adaptive. This is further substantiated studies demonstrating dysfunctional clocks associated with multiple aberrant processes. However, owing to complex interplay life-history traits collectively mediate realised fitness organisms, rigorously testing whether indeed adaptations turns out be quite challenging. Here, we review our current state knowledge on adaptive benefits clocks, discuss pros cons studies, followed brief discussion recommendations for how improved experimental designs can employed future.
