The effect of sodium valproate in Cushing's disease, Nelson's syndrome and Addison's disease.

摘要: We investigated the effect of sodium valproate on plasma ACTH and serum cortisol concentrations in different pathological states hypersecretion. Five patients with pituitary dependent Cushing's syndrome, two Nelson's syndrome five Addison's disease were studied. Neither a single dose nor long term administration resulted significant decrease levels syndrome. Furthermore, response to stimulation lysine-vasopressin was unaffected during acute chronic treatment. Patients showed slight attenuation as compared placebo but difference not statistically significant. In conclusion: does appear be effective controlling hypersecretion
