摘要: Chemokine receptors belong to one of the most pharmacologically exploited proteins; G-protein coupled (GPCRs). Drugs that target these make up greater than 45% all known marketed medicines. The first recorded uses drugs directed at this important family proteins can be traced back ancient Chinese and Indian physicians who were using plant extracts treat a variety disorders (Ding 1987; Sevenet 1991). For example, although tetrahydropalmitine, potent dopamine receptor antagonist, was isolated only few years ago from fumewort plant, itself described for its tranquilizing effects as early fifth century 1987). Extracts deadly nightshade have been widely used analgesics anesthetics in medicine since times active principles, identified alkaloids atropine scopolamine, are musacarinic antagonists.
