摘要: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is currently considered the third most common neoplasm in world according to World Cancer Research Fund International with 1.4 million cases diagnosed 2012, and second malignity as cause of death. Approximately 1/5 patients present directly metastatic disease (mCRC), 30 50% develop metastasis after surgical treatment for initially localized disease. The aims current study are review diagnostic particularities, options clinical evolution mCRC. Metastatic process CRC long complex, involving several mechanisms, molecular pathways cellular types. Advances medical imaging now allow an early accurate diagnosis lesions no matter their location. progress fundamental research led understanding basis that was further translated into novel chemotherapic biological agents, thus increasing overall survival progression-free rates. Resection liver, lung brain metastases crucial when achievable more effective completed by oncological rigorous follow-up. All mCRC should be discussed a multidisciplinary team (surgeon, oncologist, radiologist, gastroenterologist) order identify appropriate therapeutic management.
