摘要: Satellite data of Landsat TM, IRS 1B LISS II, 1C III and 1D were used to monitor aquaculture development its spatial distribution in Cuddalore District, south-east coast India. Analysis satellite images using image processing software ERDAS Imagine 9.0 Geographic Information System (GIS) Arc GIS indicated that the area under was 6.91 ha 1987, gradually increasing 67.71 1994, reaching a maximum 380.19 1998. There little shrimp culture (6.14 ha) from 1998 2005 because risk White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV), epizootics constraints related social environmental concerns raised against farming. Shrimp farms initially started marsh areas close creeks then moved inland towards agricultural fallow lands. Farms developed clusters along without affecting mangrove reserve forests between 1988 about 177.02 agriculture land including 234.25 lands converted for abandoned 109.47 15.13 previously farms, reconverted agriculture. The present study shows remote sensing are useful tools assessing monitoring larger suggests national level planning multi-spectral can be assess existing use potential sustainable coastal resources.
