摘要: Much work on wireless sensor networks deals with or considers the hot spot problem, i.e., problem that nodes closest to the base station are critical for lifetime of network because these need relay more packet than further away from base station. Since it is often assumed nodes will become inexpensive, a simple solution hot spot is to place additional around stations. Using a simple mathematical model we discuss possible performance gains of adding supplementary nodes. Our results show certain networks only limited number required to fourfold network lifetime.
