Assessing choice making among children with multiple disabilities.

摘要: Some learners with multiple disabilities display idiosyncratic gestures that are interpreted as a means of making choices. In the present study, we assessed validity choice-making behaviors 3 children disabilities. Opportunities for each child to choose between food and drink were provided under two conditions. one condition, given or item corresponding their prior choice. other teacher delivered opposite chosen. It was reasoned valid would be reflected in greater tendency accept chosen refuse unchosen item. Direct observations revealed all consistently indicated choices during both Choices items made by children. A reversal design demonstrated acts refusal more frequent when followed delivery Similar assessment procedures may effective determining function exhibited persons For lacking such skills, intervention teach needed complement procedures.
