摘要: The Andean Paleozoic basement of the Cordon del Plata (Argentina) consists two sets rocks showing different stratigraphy, structure and metamorphism. lower one is represented by pre-Carboniferous (Devonian?) Vallecitos beds. These have been affected folds associated cleavage, developed under low-grade metamor- phic conditions related to Chanic orogenic event Famatinian Orogenic Cycle (Upper Devonian-Lower Carboniferous). beds pre-orogenic deformation must deposited in a fore-arc basin located on active margin Chilenia, before its collision with passive Gondwana. upper set unconformably rests Late Carboniferous El Formation, Rio Blanco Conglomerates, probably Carboniferous-Permian age. east- directed thrusts formed very non-metamorphic conditions. This can be San Rafael phase (Gondwanan Orogen). Formation was an extensional back-arc while conglomerates retro-arc basin, both them Choiyoi Group, essentially volcanic Permo-Triasic age, previously described successions setting (pre-orogenic stage) beginning Cycle. cycle lead uplift Frontal Cordillera during Cenozoic deposition thick continental units at base Neogene-Quaternary times.
