Do vaccination strategies implemented by nursing homes narrow the racial gap in receipt of influenza vaccination in the United States

摘要: OBJECTIVES: To determine whether the racial inequity between African Americans and Caucasians in receipt of influenza vaccine is narrower residents nursing homes with facility-wide vaccination strategies than facilities without strategies. DESIGN: Secondary data analysis using National Nursing Home Survey 2004, a nationally representative survey. SETTING: One thousand one hundred seventy-four participating sampled systematically probability proportional to bed size. PARTICIPANTS: Thirteen five seven randomly August December 2004. MEASUREMENTS: Receipt within last year. Logistic regression was used examine relationship facility-level immunization strategy vaccination, adjusted for characteristics at resident, facility, state, regional levels. RESULTS: Overall Untied States, coverage higher Caucasian African-American residents; gaps were smaller (<6 percentage points) nonsignificant standing orders vaccinations (P=.14), verbal consent allowed vaccinations(P=.39), routine review rates (P=.61) these strategies. The gap two three times as high (P=.009, P=.002, respectively). CONCLUSION: presence several associated residents, narrowing national gap.
