摘要: In self-healing polymers and composites, the activity of embedded chemical catalyst within thermosetting matrix is critical to healing efficiency. Rheological behavior ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP)-based agents, triggered by 1st or 2nd generation Grubbs suspended in various resins, was investigated using an oscillatory parallel plate rheometer. Gel times for agents were determined from crossover storage loss moduli vs. time curves indicate ROMP reaction. Gelation initiated occurred faster than those catalyst. It suggested that dissolution rate agent important factor determining overall reaction situ. Optical scanning electron microscopic observations showed finer, rod-like solid particles distributed more homogeneously throughout cured matrix. The effects different systems on are discussed detail.
