摘要: Neurologically intact female rats exhibited more intense and prolonged stereotyped behavior in response to 5 mg/kg doses of d-amphetamine than males. They also displayed greater stimulation activity 1.5 the drug. Prior treatment with intrastriatal injections 6-hydroxydopamine (6HDA) eliminated sex difference but not amphetamine. Neither nor 6HDA treated differed amount elicited by dopamine agonist apomorphine suggesting that amphetamine-elicited stereotypy is result differences strial receptor mechanisms. The present results could arise from amphetamine uptake metabolism which have been described recently although other explanations are possible.
