Octagonal auxetic metamaterials with hyperelastic properties for large compressive deformation

摘要: Abstract In this study, some new 2D auxetic metamaterials were investigated and called octagonal metamaterials. The structures examined by numerical experimental approaches 3D printing additive manufacturing technique was employed to fabricate the from thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) which is considered as a hyperelastic material. Auxetic behavior caused adding small triangles squares vertices of structure applying high compressive strain. Although showed negative Poisson's ratio at strain, results suggested that well increasing triangle edge length led higher ratio. contrast, with structure, became slightly more negative. addition, square length, measured near zero or even positive values. Moreover, parametric study carried out Python 3.6.5 programming language find best most auxeticity.
