Coherent twin boundaries in high-Tc superconducting oxides.

摘要: When subjected to a low-temperature annealing cycle similar that of Bhargava et al., 1:2:3 superconducting oxides are shown form fine, 250-A spaced twins. The symmetry the crystal is markedly altered. A theoretical calculation shows twins introduce minigaps into electronic structure. implications for high-T/sub c/ superconductivity discussed.
