摘要: A novel purification scheme is described for obtaining two and useful forms of bovine glycoprotein (BGP) from erythrocytes, each which acts as an antigen in testing the presence heterophile antibodies human infectious mononucleosis. The first, or partially purified, BGP obtained crude contains about 10% by weight a complex glycoplipid. It single band upon gel electrophoresis at pH 7.0 under specified conditions. second, homogeneous, removing essentially all glycolipid. substantially Both may be used to detect quantify hemagglutination inhibition test sample (and hence determine extent mononucleosis infection) glass slide wherein purified homogeneous carried on latex synthetic resin beads. also immunoassay, preferably radioimmunoassay, characteristic
