摘要: Aquaporins are channel proteins present in the plasma membrane and most of intracellular compartments plant cells. This review focuses on recent insights into cellular function aquaporins, with an emphasis subfamily Plasma Intrinsic Proteins (PIPs). Whereas PIPs mostly serve as water channels, novel functions associated their ability to transport carbon dioxide hydrogen peroxide emerging. Phosphorylation was found play a central role mechanisms that determine gating subcellular dynamics. Dynamic tracking single aquaporin molecules native membranes search for cell signaling intermediates acting upstream aquaporins now used dissect regulation by hormonal environmental stimuli.
