摘要: The sea cucumber Parastichopus californicus atrophies and regenerates its internal organs on an annual cycle. Previous research has suggested that during the period of maximal regeneration (January–March) no movement or feeding occurs; however metabolic rate is doubled compared to non-regenerative periods (June–August). Uptake dissolved organic material (DOM) from aqueous environment could provide external source biosynthetic materials for organs. P. were collected in summer (actively moving feeding, not degenerating regenerating), winter (inactive, degenerating), spring regenerating). Animals incubated seawater containing a mixture amino acids labeled with 15N 13C. Incorporation (summer, winter, spring) 13C by respiratory trees was significantly higher than incorporation other types tissues. Additionally, dorsal ventral epidermis, oral tentacles, digestive tract, muscle, tube feet incorporated and/or at least one season. These results demonstrate certain tissues, especially trees, assimilate free water which be used as regeneration. also indicate may have role nutrition well respiration.
